I have been playing guitar for most of my life and have been exposed to a vast variety guitars over the years, from my first Gibson Les Paul Studio as a young teen, to Dean ML floating trem guitars, to venturing into extended range territory with my Jackson 7 String, Ibanez RG-8, and Strandberg Boden NX 8, I have played and found pros and cons in all my instruments. This instrument takes all the enjoyable aspects from my past instruments and mashes them together to create the perfect axe.
This guitar was labeled B stock but I can't find a single cosmetic or hardware related issue to complain about. The neck is thinner in nature which I personally love, the hardware is smooth and easy to adjust for setup, the frets are perfectly level and not a single sharp fret end to be found. The scale length on this instrument is perfect and feels like a seamless transition from the higher more conventional feeling strings to the lower 7 and 8th strings, and the fanning of the frets are a breeze to navigate. The body of the guitar is perfect both in size, weight and comfort. For a long time I have been using double cutaway guitars but something inside of me missed the single cut design that I cut my teeth on with my Les Paul. This guitar basically takes a single cut design to the next level with an incredible cut away behind the neck for you to easily get down to the higher frets while providing an ergonomic bottom very similar to a Strandbergs cutaway design. The Fishman Tosin pickups sound incredible and I have played Fishman Moderns in my Strandberg, these have a unique character to them which are different to the Moderns, these will give you crystal cleans, spanky slaps and thumps, cutting fluid leads, and chunky chugs, they do it all. The tuning stability is perfect, when it arrived after shipping it was in tune, and even after being in a new climate, it still retains tuning and the neck is still right where it should be set. Top it all off with incredible customer service and wonderful videos on how to correctly maintain the instrument found on the Abasi FAQ, you will have no trouble setting your instrument up to either the recommended spec or to your own taste.
I truly feel blessed to have this axe in my arsenal as this specific design and finish has been on my radar since 2020 before they sold out. I look forward to the years of playing such a beautiful instrument, and can't thank the kind folks at Abasi Concepts enough for providing me with the perfect tools to work with, from the Pathos Pedal, to this wonderful instrument, Abasi Concepts has yet to disappoint me!
