LARADA 8 // Master Series // Black

The Larada ® 8 is our flagship model, designed with comfort, playability, and ergonomics in mind. Its flowing curves and contours allow the instrument to sit closely against the player’s body, while the neck’s deep-set position and more compact string spacing create for a seamless transition from standard range instruments.

Larada 7 & 8-string guitars feature multi-scale fanned frets, offering a fusion of optimal string tension with uncompromised playability. These models are loaded with individual string bridges, while the standard scale Larada 6 sports a Gotoh 510 floating tremolo. Each Larada comes equipped with Tosin Abasi’s signature Fishman Fluence pickups, stainless steel frets, and locking tuners.

This Larada USA Master Series guitar features an okoume body, paired with a roasted, figured maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Each piece of wood is hand-selected, with great attention paid to quality, weight, and overall resonance of the instrument.

    Excellent

For me, this is the perfect guitar. It is very well made, has a unique design, is ergonomic, has unobstructed upper fret access, sounds great, and has that ‘je ne sais quois’ factor.

The design is so aesthetically pleasing in person, the fit and finish are quite good. Have been enjoying the two-sheen finish, adds dimension to the appearance.

The five pickup positions offer a nice variety of tones, but I haven’t been able to describe the effect of the push pull on the volume knob. If there is a difference, it is very subtle. Insofar as 8-strings, I have always preferred the Larada design over the Ēmi, but the lack of a tone knob was concerning as I use it quite often on my other guitars. I am pleased to say that I do not miss it on the Larada. The tone is relatively dark and well balanced. The pickup selector is more than sufficient in selecting the sound I want.

I had envisioned ordering an Abasi with a more novel color, such as Lavender, but I am glad that I got this one in black. The contrast between the beautiful black and the roasted maple is delightful and matches the gold/black color combination of the tuners.
