Great guitar, poor setup and quality control

I was so excited to recieve this guitar, but was immediatly let down after opening the box. The first thing I noticed was how bad the setup was. I understand that setup preference can vary from person to person, but this wasn't a matter of taste this just wasn't setup properly. The bridge wasn't even close to being level with the body. The bridge was angled so far into the body that the foam that they put around the bridge had become mashed and was starting to tear loose. I thought maybe it was shipped tuned down and once it was in tune it would be level, but that wasn't the case. The action was pretty high too, made even worse once I leveled the bridge. It was almost 3mm at the 12th fret. Instead of taking the guitar out of the box and playing it, I had to spend a saturday afternoon making adjustments that I feel like should have been set from the factory.

Then there is the finish on the guiar. All around the guitar has random chipped paint and color distorting, it looks like maybe glue was spilt on it. I sent out an email and they offered me a refund or $100 off, which doesn't seem like much considering the amount of flaws. However, I know these guitars sell out quick and if I returned it I wouldn't be able to get another one. So I took the discount.

Now that it has been setup it plays great, the specs are awesome and it sounds even better. The flaws in the finish aren't noticable until you really start to look at it, so I can live with it. Just wish a little more was put into the finish and setup and this would be a stellar guitar.

Hi Drew,

Thank you so much for your purchase and for taking the time to share your feedback - we truly appreciate it, as it helps us continue to improve.

We strive to ensure that every guitar leaves our shop fully set up and ready to play out of the box. However, the shipping and delivery process can sometimes cause slight shifts or changes that may require minor adjustments upon arrival. Occasional setups are considered part of regular maintenance and our setup guides can be found in our FAQ and the link below:

Regarding the foam inside the tremolo route of the ēmi 6: this is a standard feature on all of our Legion guitars equipped with a tremolo system. It’s secured with a mild adhesive and may occasionally need to be re-seated. It can also be fully removed if preferred, as it serves primarily a cosmetic purpose.

We absolutely understand your concerns about the cosmetic flaws you’ve identified. This is a valid issue, and we are actively working to address this in our internal processes. In situations like this, our standard customer service policy is to offer either a return or a partial refund. Typically, we provide a $50 refund for minor cosmetic imperfections, but in your case — based on the photos you shared — we felt it was appropriate to offer double that amount.

We hope this resolution feels fair, and we truly value you as part of the Abasi community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or if we can assist you in any other way.
